Guidelines for Meaningful Conversations
Our group’s conversational guidelines are here to help us create a safe, respectful, and welcoming space for everyone. These simple suggestions help keep conversations flowing naturally while ensuring everyone feels valued and heard:
It’s always okay to pass if you’re not feeling up for sharing—there’s no pressure.
Take turns speaking and allow others to finish before responding.
If you’ve shared recently, step back to give others a chance to speak.
Speak one at a time to keep the conversation easy to follow.
Avoid side conversations or whispering while someone else is sharing.
Share your thoughts in a kind and supportive way to encourage meaningful discussion.
Raise your hand during larger gatherings so everyone has a chance to be heard.
Welcome different opinions by focusing on understanding, not debating.
